In 2006, my father and I constructed our first self-storage facility in Park City, TN, spanning 32,200 rentable square feet. Later, in 2014, I ventured out independently and developed a facility in Hazel Green, AL. The Hazel Green project was executed in two phases, with the second phase reaching completion in June 2017, ultimately offering 74,425 rentable square feet of storage space.
During the same year, I acquired an existing facility in Fayetteville, TN, comprising 34,000 square feet. Eager to enhance its capacity and amenities, I added two new climate-controlled buildings, resulting in 52,250 rentable square feet. In February 2018, my fourth facility opened in Meridianville, AL, boasting 72,100 rentable square feet.
My fifth facility, strategically located in Tullahoma, TN, featured 62,000 rentable square feet. This facility taught me the importance of "local" traffic count. We reached 50% capacity in a year, a record for us. We successfully sold these five facilities to USA Storage Centers on September 14, 2020.
Most recently, we completed the development of a 52,250-square-foot self-storage facility in Columbia, TN. This state-of-the-art facility represents our continued commitment to delivering quality storage solutions in growing markets.
